Steelpan Drumming
Experienced steelpan drummer, Adrian Virgil Mitchell, will introduce you to this amazing instrument and musical form. Originating in Trinidad and Tobago, the pan is a pitched percussion instrument made from a 55 gallon drum. Adrian’s pan of choice is the tenor or soprano pan.  He has played lead tenor with the Koskeros Steel Orchestra, based in Rio Claro, Trinidad, for six years, with which he has entered 6 Panorama competitions and won 3 times. Everyone is welcome; no experience necessary. Drums provided. Limit of 3 participants per session, so no drop-ins. Must register in advance for this workshop.
Dates: Wed. – Fri. August 1, 2 & 3
Times: 3-5 pm or 7- 9 pm
Location: Dennis Avenue Community School, Dennis Ave. (between Weston at Guestville, near the corner of Eglinton)

Hip Hop Hope
Experienced Hip Hop artists will help you create your own beats and lyrics or polish stuff you’re working on now. At the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to perform your new song in public, if you like.
Dates: Mon. – Thurs. August 6, 7, 8 & 9
Times: 3 - 5 pm and/or 7- 9 pm
Location: Dennis Avenue, Community School, Dennis Ave. (between Weston at Guestville, near the corner of Eglinton)

Street Theatre
A professional playwright/director, Dale Hamilton, will help you create scenes about things that matter to you and then perform them on the streets, in parks and in building lobbies. The audience will be invited to suggest different endings for these scenes, so each performance will be unique. See your ideas come alive!
Dates: Mon.-Fri. August 13, 14, 15 & 16
Times: 3-5 pm and/or 7- 9 pm
Location: Dennis Avenue Community School, Dennis Ave. (between Weston and Guestville, near the corner of Eglinton)

Circus Skills
Mike Hirschbach will teach you circus skills that will surprise you and your friends.
Mike has toured the world as a circus performer with Cirque du Soleil and has taught circus skills to youth in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Montreal, New York and Africa; through Cirque du Monde, the social outreach program of Cirque du Soleil. Currently he is the Director of Circus Circle, teaching circus skills to youth at risk throughout Nova Scotia. Mike has toured his one man show across Canada, the U.S., Europe, Singapore, the Yukon and Alaska. He’s performed thousands of shows, and taught uncountable workshops on 3 continents.

Dennis, including Eglinton Flats and the former Kodak lands, using your ideas and your ideals about what Mt. Dennis might look like in the future.
