Happy New Year! The City Budget is Back!

Welcome to 2017!

I know you're all raring to get back to the City of Toronto budget. Fortunately, it all gets started this week. The Budget Committee has three days of public hearings (deputations) to hear from the public on the City budget starting on Thursday, January 5 at the Scarborough Civic Centre and Etobicoke Civic Centre.

What's your vision for Toronto? What should the priorities be for improving our city? Are you concerned about service cuts? This is your chance to have your voice heard! Want to learn more about making a deputation? Come out on Wednesday, January 4 for a deputation training.

Ok, you don't have to sing your deputation (although some have) - just say a few words!

Public Hearings (Deputations)

Budget public hearings are taking place at six locations with afternoon and evening sessions. The Budget Committee will break up into two subcommittees to hear from the community. Everyone is welcome to participate. You usually get up to 3 minutes to speak. You can also just drop by to see what's happening.

To make a presentation at one of the Budget Subcommittee meetings on January 5, 9, and 10, 2017, please email buc@toronto.ca or call 416-392-4666 no later than 12:00 p.m., January 4, 2017.
