Event Planning 101 Training

In this interactive workshop, we will cover the foundations of running a great event guided by facilitators who have produced both large and small events. Get helpful templates, including an event planning checklist and budget, as well as an event planning toolkit, and all the skills and knowledge you need to plan high impact events!

Snacks and TTC tokens / $6 parking reimbursement will be provided. Childcare will be provided upon request.

This workshop is only open to grant recipients and mentors of the City of Toronto's Neighbourhood Grants Program.

Facilitators:

Luisa Giacometti has been an active volunteer in her community for many years and is co-chair of the Falstaff Table and Co-chair of the Rustic Community Network. Luisa’s group received a City of Toronto Neighbourhood grant in 2017 and put on a successful Autumn fest event. Her group was successful in receiving another City of Toronto Neighbourhood grant in 2018 for a Music in the Park event.

Noora Sagarwala is the Touring and Audience Development Officer at the Ontario Arts Council. As an arts manager with over 15 years of experience, Noora has coordinated both large-scale multidisciplinary and international festivals as well as local community engagement initiatives. She has held positions at Manifesto, the Young Centre for the Performing Arts, the National Arts Centre, and the Canada Dance Festival. Noora completed an MBA from the Schulich School of Business where she received the Joe Green Founder’s Award in Arts & Media.
