How to Build your Outreach Strategies - Daytime Session

THIS WORKSHOP IS ONLY OPEN TO THOSE WHO HAVE RECEIVED A NEIGHBOURHOOD GRANT IN 2018.

Knowing when to promote what information with the right audience is key to a successful outreach plan. This workshop is designed to help you build a strong outreach plan to connect with local businesses, residents, volunteers and other key stakeholders.  You will be taken through each of the following steps:

  • Mapping your audience;
  • Choosing the right tools to reach out and connect with your target population; and
  • Developing partnerships that can help with community outreach.

Come to this session to meet other recipients of City of Toronto grants and share your outreach tips with each other!

Facilitators:

Andrea Laing holds a Bachelor and Masters in Social Work. She has worked as a youth outreach worker for more than five years in Toronto’s most vulnerable neighbourhoods in the North-West end. Most recently, she has worked on grassroots marketing campaigns and within communications roles for TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games and South Riverdale Community Health Centre.

Leighana Mais has been a volunteer in her neighbourhood since she was 13 years old. She is a graduate of Centennial College - School of Business, Business Administration, with a heavy passion for community and entrepreneurship. She is a creative with over 10 years experience in event planning of several types, 3 years experience in photo and video production, graphic design, marketing, and much experience in communications. This year, Leighana received a City of Toronto Neighbourhood Grant to put on a festival at Coronation Park.

Supports: Lunch and 2 TTC tokens will be provided. When you register, please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or need any other support.
