The Frances Lankin Award was established in 2011 by Social Planning Toronto on the occasion of Frances Lankin’s retirement from United Way Toronto. It is to be awarded annually to an individual who has made a significant, sustained contribution to the non-profit community sector in the City of Toronto.
The Selection Process
Nominations for the award can be made by any individual or organizational member of Social Planning Toronto. Nominations can be made by way of a letter or email using the attached nomination form and criteria.
The selection committee will include one Social Planning Toronto Board member (the Chair or designate), one representative from each of the City-Wide Agency Network, Toronto Neighbourhood Centres, and the Alternative Planning Group.
Timeline
For 2017, nominations will open on March 1st, with a March 24th deadline for receipt of nominations. The Selection Committee will make its decision by March 31st, after which the potential recipient will be notified. The award will be presented at the Social Planning Toronto Annual General Meeting the evening of April 26th, at Daniels Spectrum, Artscape Lounge, 585 Dundas St. East., Toronto.
