For the past several years Social Planning Toronto and partners have been participating in conversations about how to make recreation more accessible and engaging for diverse youth. Last June we held a Newcomer Youth Recreation Forum and two themes clearly emerged:
- Authentic and ongoing youth engagement
- Respecting intersectionality
In response, we have teamed up with City of Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation, the Toronto Newcomer Office, and MLSE Launchpad to take on this task, and we need your input! We are inviting you to share your insights on how we can create a process for co-designing recreation services with youth.
We want to hear about your strategies and successes for working with young people to design and implement programs that are relevant, inclusive and sustainable. Dinner and tokens will be provided.
You can also share your feedback and ideas through this online survey.
