Join Social Planning Toronto (SPT) for an interactive workshop on how everyday conversations can help strengthen civic participation in the upcoming 2026 municipal election.
Municipal elections shape many aspects of our daily lives, including housing, public transit, parks and recreation, community safety, and poverty reduction. Yet many people face barriers to participating in the democratic process or may not feel their voices are heard.
This workshop will explore practical and engaging ways to start meaningful conversations about voting with friends, family members, neighbours, and community members. Through interactive demonstrations and real-world examples, participants will learn how community-led outreach and peer-to-peer engagement can encourage greater participation in local elections and help ensure diverse community voices are reflected at the ballot box.
Whether you are new to civic engagement or already active in your community, this workshop will provide tools, ideas, and inspiration to help promote informed and inclusive participation in the democratic process.
