At its September meeting, the SPT Board received a report on the status of the search for the next SPT Executive Director. Crawfordconnect, the human resource firm leading the search, reported being in receipt of applications submitted by the August 27 posting deadline, as well as following up with prospects recommended to the firm by multiple community stakeholders.
After careful study of resumes and screening interviews with a selection of applicants, the search firm presented on September 11 a list of its top 10 recommended candidates to the search committee (made up of SPT Board staff members and two community representatives).
The next steps in the process are:
- Crawfordconnect will conduct face-to-face interviews with each of the candidates on the long list and present a shortlist of five to seven candidates for interviews with the search committee in early October.
- The committee’s assessment at that time will produce two or three candidates, each of whom will be invited to make a presentation to the Board and answer Board questions as the final stage of the selection process.
- The Board will make a decision and an appointment by November (although, of course, the actual start time of the new ED will depend on the personal circumstances of the individual selected).
The SPT Board expects that the new ED will be assuming the leadership position no later than the New Year.
