In alignment with our strategic plan, Social Planning Toronto’s community planning and engagement work is city-wide, working on issues that impact marginalized communities spanning all of Toronto’s neighbourhoods. We work as a centralized resource to support local community organizations and their expertise, and to equip them with the tools, analysis, and education to influence social policy effectively. Our current community planning areas of focus include, but are not limited to equitable development and planning & affordable housing; voter engagement, civic literacy and civic engagement; capacity building for community leaders, and ongoing community engagement work related to the City Budget process and the City’s Poverty Reduction Strategy, which you can learn about on their respective pages.
