Parkdale Newcomer Fair

Parkdale Community Information Centre is proud to announce the third annual Newcomer Fair on Tuesday, August 11th 2009.

It will take place from 11 – 4 pm at the Parkdale Public Library, 1303 Queen Street West, in the heart of Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood.

The last event saw agencies and organizations connect with over 300 newcomers from more than 20 different countries. In the surveys conducted one participant described the event as “very good for new immigrants” while another person noted it was “very valuable.”

This year’s event promises to build on previous years’ successes: diverse community participation, the involvement of local youth volunteers, an array of participating agencies and organizations. Along with all the information to take in, participants will have the chance to chat with friendly people, meet their neighbours, and win prizes from local businesses and cultural attractions throughout the city.

The event is free and refreshments will be available for participants.
