What does Toronto need for a just and equitable pandemic recovery? Bold Ideas for Change!

Part 2: Community-Based Alternatives to Policing, Harm Reduction & Mental Health

Social Planning Toronto is hosting a two-part series highlighting current challenges facing the community sector in 5 key priority areas. Experts from the sector will share their insights on the current crises, challenges within the community sector, solutions and how our perception and thinking needs to shift in order to achieve an equitable recovery rooted in social justice. The discussion will focus on informing the audience on the issues that low-income and equity-owed Torontonians (and the organizations that serve them) are grappling with, and what our next City Council and Mayor need to prioritize in our City.

SPEAKERS:

  • Angela Robertson, Executive Director, Parkdale Queen West Community Health Centre
  • Cynthia Bell-Clayton, Executive Director, ENAGB Indigenous Youth Agency
  • Serena Nudel, Director of Community Programs, The Neighbourhood Group Community Services
